Operation Round-Up

Operation Round-Up allows Central Texas Electric Co-op (CTEC) members to make a difference in their community through their cooperative membership.  Participating is easy. Each month, CTEC “rounds up” the electric bill of participating members to the next highest dollar. Those extra cents are added to the Operation Round-Up fund and individuals, families and organizations can apply for a grant.  Members can also make a one-time donation and all contributions are tax-deductible.

Grants are awarded to community organizations and families or individuals in need, that are vetted by our Operations Round-Up Board of Directors so you can be sure the funds will be used to make our community better and stay local.

Make a One-Time Donation

All funds are kept separate from CTEC finances, and all funds collected are tax-deductible. All participation is voluntary. However, the more CTEC members that participate, the more difference the program can make in our area. You can also simply make a tax-deductible donation of any amount or have a fixed amount added to your bill each month. Simply call any of the CTEC offices or e-mail us the CTEC Help Desk.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where does the money go?

Operation Round-Up contributions are kept in a separate fund from our general funds. When grant applications are received, the Operation Round-Up Board will meet, in-person or virtually, to vet the organization, individual or family applying for a grant. If the grant is approved, a check is issued to the entity.

Will I know how much I have donated?

If members decide to participate, they will see “Operation Round*Up” as a line item on their monthly bill. And remember this donation is tax-deductible.
