At Central Texas Electric Cooperative, your voice matters. Since 1947, CTEC has been owned and governed by the members we serve. That means the cooperative belongs to you—not outside investors or shareholders.
One of the Seven Cooperative Principles is Democratic Member Control, and at CTEC, that principle is more than just words. It means one membership, one vote.
As a member-owner, you have the right to help shape the future of your cooperative by participating in district meetings, voting in director elections, and staying informed about cooperative business and future plans.
Members are officially notified of meetings by mail and through notices published in Texas Co-op Power magazine.
Why District Meetings Matter
Each year, CTEC hosts district meetings across our service area between May 20 and June 20. These meetings provide members with updates about cooperative operations, projects, financial performance, and future plans through presentations and a cooperative video report.
District meetings also give members the opportunity to connect with cooperative leadership and employees while participating in the democratic process that helps guide the cooperative.
Members who attend receive:
- A $10 bill credit
- Eligibility for door prizes
- The opportunity to vote in director elections when applicable
When a board seat is open within a district, members in attendance elect a nominee to represent their area on the Central Texas Electric Cooperative Board of Directors.
Directors serve three-year terms and represent the members within their geographic districts. By exercising your right to vote, you help select the individuals who will help guide the future of your cooperative.
