Central Texas Electric Co-op (CTEC) and its subsidiary Central Texas Extra Services Corporation (CTESC), respects your right to privacy and recognizes our responsibility to protect the confidentiality of your personal information. When you apply for utility service and/or Internet service with CTEC, personal information is collected. This information may include personal data such as name, address, telephone numbers, e-mail address, employment information, prior utility service providers, Social Security Number, and Driver’s License Number. Information may also be obtained from outside sources, such as credit bureaus. CTEC also maintains information about your transactions and account experiences with us.

Personal information collected and maintained by CTEC is available only to employees and representatives of CTEC who need access to specific data in the performance of their duties providing utility service.

CTEC does not sell the personal information it collects from members and utility customers. We maintain reasonable safeguards to secure and protect the personal information we acquire from you. CTEC may disclose personal information as permitted or required by law, including, for example:

  • To credit reporting agencies;
  • To local, state and federal law enforcement pursuant to lawful process;
  • To third parties acting on our behalf;
  • To appropriate regulatory agencies; and
  • To collect any outstanding debt for utility services and/or Internet services.
