CTEC Operation Round-Up Awards Grant to the Hill Country Community Action Association’s Meals on Wheels Program

Recently, the Operation Round-Up Board of Directors at Central Texas Electric Cooperative approved a grant to support the HCCAA’s Meals on Wheels Program in Kingsland.

The Meals on Wheels Program provides seniors that are confined to their home a hot meal once a day. They service the Kingsland, Sunrise Beach, Buchanan Dam, Horseshoe Bay, Deer Haven and Sandy Harbor areas. They received a grant of $2,500 to support their efforts.

Operation Round-Up is a program that has been around the Hill Country area for many years, and it’s all because of CTEC members who voluntarily participate. By having their monthly electric bills “rounded up” to the next whole dollar each month, over 1,500 enrolled co-op members have been able to make a difference in the lives of neighbors in their communities.

CTEC members who haven’t signed up for Operation Round-Up yet can do online or by picking up the phone and calling the nearest CTEC office to enroll 1 or all of their accounts. The average contribution comes to 50 cents per month, or just $6 for an entire year.

1-time monetary contributions to Operation Round-Up are also accepted. Just call any CTEC office and tell them your preference. All donations are tax-deductible.

It’s an easy, inexpensive way to become part of a great community program through your co-op membership.
